Student of the educational program “Information systems” at the Insurtechhackathon

On January 27-28, 2024, a 4th-year student of the educational program “Information Systems”, Ersultan Damir, took part in the InsurTechHackathon, commissioned by Halyk Life and supported by the International University of Information Technology.

In total, about 40 teams from different universities participated in the hackathon. Ersultan Damir was the Product Manager of a 5-person team, which was faced with solving a business case for life insurance.

During the hackathon, Damir led the team and delegated tasks, and, most importantly, was able to transform business tasks into technical tasks for the effective work of the team. This experience allowed Damir to better understand the mechanics of teamwork and taught him how to adapt business needs to real technical solutions.

Although victory was unattainable for Damir this time, we are confident that these lessons will make him a more prepared and successful participant in future hackathons.
