On January 28, 2025, Turan University hosted the 9th International Conference on “Bridging Globalization and Sustainability: Challenges, Strategies and the Way Forward” organized in partnership with the Commerce and Management Association of India (CMAI).
The conference aimed to discuss key aspects of sustainable development in the context of globalization. Topics covered a wide range of issues, including sustainable business practices, corporate social responsibility, green finance and innovations, climate change, and digitalization.

The opening ceremony featured speeches of the Rector of Turan University, President of the Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Rakhman Alshanov; Vice-Rector for External Relations and Doctorate of Turan University, Associate Professor Gulzhanat Tayauova; President of the Commerce and Management Association of India (CMAI), Professor Sandeep Kulshreshtha; Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan, Dr. Nagendra Prasad; Director of the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan, Mr. Darrin Farrant; UN Global Communications Representative, Mr. Vlastimil Samek; Head of the Political Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Almasha Arenova; Second Secretary (Consul) of the Indian Embassy in Almaty, Shri Kothawade Swapnil Sharad; Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at the Indian Embassy in Astana, Sanjay Vedi; Vice-Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, Himachal Pradesh, Professor S.L. Chandan; Professor of Kurukshetra University, Haryana, Professor Sanjay Arora; and Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Professor Sat Prakash Bansal.
An Indian delegation of 67 participants, including 63 professors and scientists from 21 public universities and colleges in India, attended the conference to present their research:
At the conference, participants discussed a wide range of issues related to sustainable development in the context of globalization. The main focus was on sustainable business practices, corporate social responsibility, green financing, innovative approaches, combating climate change, and the role of digitalization in achieving sustainability.
