All participants of the Annual School of Pedagogical Mastery, held from January 13 to 17, 2025, at Turan University, received certificates confirming their mastery of innovative content. As part of the program, the Higher School of Media and Intercultural Communication organized advanced training courses for teachers in their respective fields of expertise.
The course “Current Issues in Modern Translation Studies: Challenges and Solutions in Scientific, Legal, and Audiovisual Translation” was attended by linguist teachers from our university, KazUIR&WL named after Abylai Khan, and KazNPU named after Abai. Over five days, experts discussed the specificities of various translation domains.
Senior lecturer E.S. Patashkova, who teaches this course at the Translation Academy under the Association of Professional Translators and Translation Companies, highlighted the challenges of legal translation and ways to overcome them. The nuances of audiovisual translation were thoroughly explored by A.A. Golovchun, PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor, and an experienced simultaneous interpreter, who generously shared practical aspects of translating films, TV series, and other media content. Scientific translation was covered by Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation at KazNPU named after Abai, and head of the scientific project “Translation Quality Assessment: Scientific and Educational Domains” (2023-2025), funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, A.K. Zhumabekova, along with A.M. Kurkimbayeva, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Language Speech Practice at the Faculty of Translation and Philology of KazUIR&WL named after Abylai Khan. Their presentation focused on modern approaches and methodologies for working with academic texts, presenting intriguing case studies and offering various accurate translation solutions.
For teachers preparing students in the educational programs “Journalism” and “Public Relations,” lectures, discussions, and experience exchanges were held under the theme “Professional Competencies in the Media Space: Content Analytics, Digital Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence.” Speakers from the Higher School of Media and IC included:

The School of Pedagogical Mastery served as a vital platform for exchanging experiences, discussing current issues in professional fields, and enhancing the skills of both practitioners and educators. Participants praised the high level and effectiveness of the program and expressed confidence in the necessity of continuing such educational initiatives in the future.
