The Council of Young Scientists was established in 2024 under the President of Kazakhstan and NAS RK. Its primary mission is to protect the rights and interests of young scientists, support their professional development, and foster international scientific cooperation.

Since its inception, the Council has actively participated in discussions on pressing issues in Kazakhstan’s scientific governance. In 2024, the Council introduced several significant initiatives, including:

  • Proposing amendments to the “Science and Technological Policy” law;
  • Advocating for better social conditions for scientists;
  • Suggesting improvements to the awarding of state scientific prizes and scholarships;
  • Introducing a dedicated section on young scientists in the National Scientific Report;
  • Organizing the first National Congress of Young Scientists.

In 2025, the Council’s composition was renewed by 50%, now including 31 leading young scientists from various disciplines. Its structure was aligned with NAS RK, with work organized by scientific divisions.

Each year, the Council develops practical recommendations for scientific development, young researcher support, and addressing key issues in the scientific community. With the President’s strong commitment to science and young scholars, many Council initiatives have been successfully implemented.

The Council of Young Scientists will continue to play a vital role in advancing science and protecting the interests of young researchers in Kazakhstan!
