International debate tournament TISDC-26

On February 28 – March 1, 2026, Turan University hosted the international English-language debate tournament — Turan International Schools Debating Championships 2026 (TISDC 2026).

The championship brought together 145 participants forming 47 teams from 7 countries: Kazakhstan, the USA, Russia, Mozambique, Malawi, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

The tournament was organized by Turan University in cooperation with Your Vision LLP, with the support of the Republican Educational and Methodological Center for Additional Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

ㅤ

Over the course of two days, participants — students of grades 9–11(12) and college students — competed in intellectual rounds, demonstrating a high level of English proficiency, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

The Best Speaker of the tournament was Egor Kurnosov, with an average score of 72.00.

The Best Judge Award was presented to Angelina Zaineyeva.

ㅤ

Winners and prize-winners of the tournament are granted tuition discounts at Turan University.

ㅤ

TISDC 2026 confirmed its status as an international academic platform and strengthened Kazakhstan’s position as a center for the development of intellectual educational initiatives.
