The TURAN Electronic Library is a convenient platform for searching the electronic catalog, where you can find information about textbooks, study guides, monographs, and dissertations available in the library. You can also access electronic publications prepared by our university’s faculty.

Access: Login by corporate mail.

SAGE Publications – These are authoritative journals, evidenced by their inclusion in Web of Science and Journal Citation Reports. Over 200 journals are available in Open Access format.

Wiley Online Library – Peer-reviewed original research across a wide range of scientific disciplines. It includes articles, journals, and books.

Taylor & Francis – An international publishing company specializing in academic publications. Over 200,000 articles are available in Open Access.

Springer – A publisher of scientific content. Over 460,000 documents are available in Open Access.

eLIBRARY.RU – An electronic library of scientific publications with extensive search and analysis capabilities for scientific information. 4,500 scientific journals are available in free open access. Registration on the website allows you to view full-text documents and create your own collections.

World Bank E-library – Publications from the World Bank Group (books, reports, journal articles, collections of statistical data).

World Bank Open Knowledge Repository – The official open repository of the World Bank, containing the results of its research and information products from 2000 to the present.

Documents and Reports – A collection of documents and final reports from the World Bank Group (economic and sectoral studies, board documents, department documents, etc.). The database contains materials from 1946 to the present.

World Bank Open Data portal – Collections of statistical data on global development, including studies of living standards, global consumption data, World Bank lending projects, international debt statistics, and microdata library.

Kazakhstan National Electronic Library – An electronic repository of publications (books, journals, articles, dissertations, etc.). KazNEL contains rare documents and manuscripts, archival materials.

Open University of Kazakhstan (OpenU) – OpenU is an educational platform offering free access to online courses from leading universities and instructors in the country, available to everyone without restrictions.

Kitap – A platform containing a collection of world and Kazakh literature, folk songs, and kui, as well as audio and video materials. A large number of documents are available for free after registering on the platform. Mobile app available on Google Play and App Store.

Urait Open Library – The collection includes fundamental lecture courses, classical scientific works, outstanding monuments of literature and culture in translation and in the original language.

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) – An index and search engine that provides direct links to journals and journal articles that are open to all.

Digital Public Library of America – Online books, maps, photos, and much more from libraries, archives, and museums, freely available to all.

Project Gutenberg – Over 49,000 free books available in a variety of downloadable formats.

UNESCO Digital Library – A collection of publications, documents, and other materials about UNESCO’s activities (in education, natural, social and human sciences, culture, communication, and information). It contains more than 350,000 documents dating back to 1945.

Open Culture is a platform that offers free educational resources. It works as an aggregator, centralizing content from various open sources. The site offers:

• 1,700 courses across different fields, such as journalism, law, business, information technology, art, psychology, and neuroscience.
• 4,000 films, including classics, indie, noir, documentaries, and more.
• 2,000 books (e-books, textbooks, audiobooks).
• A language-learning collection covering 45 languages, including Spanish, French, English, Chinese, Italian, Russian, and others.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art website offers numerous open-access materials, including a variety of resources useful for art enthusiasts, researchers, and students.

• 490,000 high-resolution images.
• 50,000 books and art catalogs from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s digital collections.

The British Museum website presents a collection ranging from humanity’s earliest artifacts to works by contemporary artists. The collection includes 4,500,000 objects, with high-resolution images available for detailed exploration.

The National Gallery of Art website provides access to 50,000 works of art, including masterpieces by Van Gogh, Gauguin, Rembrandt, and others.

AQIQAT — a Kazakh national socio-political magazine.

CENTRAL ASIA MONITOR — news about Central Asia and key events in Kazakhstan.

DKN — a 24-hour multimedia information and analytical portal. The E-UNI.KZ educational platform offers multimedia content in Kazakh, Russian, and English across all areas of education. The platform features online courses and lectures on engaging and relevant topics, as well as publications from leading Kazakhstani universities.

SAGE Business Cases is a constantly expanding electronic collection of cases on management, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, leadership, human resource management, and business ethics. At the moment, the total number of cases exceeds 5,500 units. Most of the collection is developed by world-renowned organizations and institutions. For example, Yale School of Management, Kellogg School of Management, Rotterdam School of Management, etc.

SAGE Knowledge (Sage Academic Books & Reference) is a single database covering a wide range of e-books and online reference content. Includes scientific publications, reference materials, and professional development series.

Access: via university IP-addresses (i.e. open from university computers).

The trial test access is valid from March 1 to April 30, 2024.

Lan Publishing

Starting from September 16, 2024, our users will have the opportunity to test access to the electronic library “LAN”. This is a unique resource offering access to an extensive database of educational and scientific literature from leading publishers.

«LAN» Publishing is not just a publishing house but also a modern IT company whose electronic library has become a flagship product since its launch in 2010. This high-tech resource provides organizations with access to numerous books and journals, as well as tools for inclusive education.

It is worth noting the «LAN» mobile application, which allows blind and visually impaired people to listen to books using a built-in speech synthesizer. The Publishing hosts thousands of books adapted for proper listening.

Access: Open on the university campus (by IP addresses).

Test access period: From September 16 to October 15, 2024.

Resources for «Turan» Corporation Graduates

Reading Room: Graduates are welcome to visit the library’s reading room according to its working hours. They can use the available computers or work on their own laptops, as well as participate in book exhibitions and library events.

Turan Electronic Library: Literature search can be carried out through the guide-screen in the reading room, where the full catalog of the library is available.

Literature: Issuance of literature and periodicals (newspapers, magazines) is only for reading in the hall and requires an ID or passport.

Subscribed Electronic Resources: On the university premises, graduates can access subscribed electronic resources through the network by IP addresses.

Open Access Electronic Resources: We have prepared a selection of electronic resources that are available to graduates for free. Visit the «Electronic Resources» tab to find suitable material.
