From November 29 to December 1, 2022 in Astana at the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov hosted the II Republican Festival of Student Theaters. The event was attended by 11 creative teams of the country’s universities, which presented their best productions for three days.
The event was organized by the student theater of ENU “Shanyrak”.
The purpose of the festival is to support youth creativity, develop talents among students, promote student theaters, and strengthen cooperation between universities.
The student organization TeArt at the second republican festival “Umit”, which was held in Astana, took 3rd place along with a prize fund of 100,000 tenge.
Student theaters of universities of Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Aktobe, Semey, Taraz, Atyrau, Uralsk, Pavlodar, Kokshetau performed at the festival.
The condition for participation was the staging of a performance on three themes: love, friendship, fidelity.
The student organization “TeArt” performed a production of “Mirzhakyp Dulatov. Oyan, Kazak”.
During the event, the 2nd year student of the University “Turan” Asel Kuatova was noted for her artistry. She has been taking part in theatrical art for two years.
“Thanks to such festivals, I am charged with positive emotions, gain invaluable experience, find new friends and like-minded people. My creative team and I want to raise the topic of respect for our history, our native language. Through the play “Oyan, Kazak” based on the work of M. Dulatov, we want to convey the importance of knowing our history. After all, without this there is no future,” the student emphasized.
The work of young actors was evaluated by a professional jury consisting of Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kenzhegali Myrzhykbay, actress of the highest category of the State Theater of Drama and Comedy named after Azerbaijan Mambetov Gulmira Zhakilina, laureate of the First President’s Fund award, actor and director Nurlan Kaliyev and actor, director Aman Gumarov.
