Guest lecture «AI writes code. Applications are still made by people»

In February 2026, a series of guest lectures titled “AI Writes Code. Applications Are Still Made by People” was held at Turan University for students of the educational programs 6B06101 – Information Systems and 6B06103 – Intelligent Robotics, featuring an invited expert.

Speaker: Aneliya Malikovna Mukhamedkarimova – App Developer, holder of the Apple Teacher with Swift Recognition status, prize winner of the international WWDC Swift Student Challenge Award 2023, and graduate of the Apple Developer Academy (Naples, Italy).

The lecture addressed current issues related to the transformation of IT professions in the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies. Particular attention was paid to the role of the developer in the era of generative AI, as well as to changes in approaches to software product development.

Participants were introduced to modern AI tools and their applications in software development. It was demonstrated that despite the automation of programming processes, the key role of the developer remains crucial due to their ability to understand users, define tasks, and make product decisions.

The presentation covered the following key topics:

– the use of modern AI tools in software development;

– the role of developers in the context of coding automation;

– features of creating in-demand mobile applications;

– development of key competencies for specialists in the field of information systems;

– opportunities for students to participate in Apple’s international programs and competitions.

Special attention was given to the idea that software development goes beyond writing code and includes user experience design, requirements analysis, and responsibility for the final product.

As part of the event, a presentation of the student community Swift Coding Club Almaty was also held, aimed at developing practical skills in mobile application development, teamwork, and participation in international IT initiatives.

The guest lecture attracted great interest among students, contributed to broadening their professional outlook, and strengthened the connection between the educational process and the international IT industry.

The organizer of the lecture is Yekaterina Romanovna Kim, Ph.D., associate professor at the Higher school of information technology of Turan University.
