Guest Lecture “Bridging Academia and Industry: Turning Research into Real-World Solutions”

On February 14, 2026, an online guest lecture was held for the academic staff of the Higher School of Information Technologies, as well as for students of the educational programs “Information Systems” and “Intelligent Robotics,” on the topic “Bridging Academia and Industry: Turning Research into Real-World Solutions.”

The lecture was delivered by Samir Rustamov, Associate Professor at the School of Information Technologies and Engineering of ADA University and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MegaSec. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Institute of Cybernetics and completed his postdoctoral research at the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA).

During the lecture, modern approaches to integrating academic research with industry were discussed, along with practical aspects of implementing artificial intelligence technologies. Attention was given to areas such as natural language processing, speech technologies, large language models, and AI systems for low-resource languages.

Samir Rustamov shared his experience in implementing national AI initiatives, including projects in speech recognition, video analytics, and the development of specialized academic programs. Issues related to digital transformation and the development of the AI ecosystem were also addressed.

The lecture generated strong interest among students, who actively asked questions, engaged in discussions, and demonstrated a high level of involvement in exploring modern technologies and their applications.

Such events contribute to strengthening academic collaboration, enhancing students’ professional competencies, and fostering closer connections between education, science, and industry.
