Turan University – partner of the AI Talents Almaty hackathon

Turan University acted as a partner of the city hackathon AI Talents Almaty, which took place on April 3–4, 2026, at the Farabi Hub venue.

The event was aimed at identifying the technological and intellectual potential of participants in developing digital solutions and applying artificial intelligence. It also focused on enhancing practical programming skills, analytical thinking, and teamwork, while encouraging participants to create innovative projects addressing real-world challenges and increasing their interest in IT and modern technologies.

The hackathon brought together 70 teams of students from grades 9–11 from across Almaty. Over an intensive 24-hour period, participants developed prototypes of digital solutions using artificial intelligence, data analytics, and software development technologies.

Yekaterina Romanovna Kim — Candidate of Technical Sciences and Associate Professor at the Higher School of Information Technology, Turan University — served as a member of the expert jury. She participated in evaluating the projects based on key criteria such as innovation, practical applicability, quality of implementation, and presentation level.

According to the decision of the competition committee, the winning teams were awarded cash prizes:

  • 1st place – TechnoForce – 250,000 KZT
  • 2nd place – hellcode – 200,000 KZT
  • 3rd place – 4 nerds – 150,000 KZT

Turan University’s participation as both a partner and a jury representative highlights its active role in the development of IT education, the support of talented youth, and the formation of a professional community in the field of artificial intelligence.

The hackathon became an important platform for identifying promising ideas, fostering engineering and entrepreneurial thinking among school students, and strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and industry.
