Currently, due to rapid changes in the living conditions of society, the relevance and demand of the specialty “Psychology” is increasing.

 

The purpose of the educational program of the specialty “Psychology” is to form the scientific thinking of a modern scientist who is able to solve scientific, theoretical and scientific-practical problems, use new psychological knowledge for the benefit of Kazakhstan society.

 

In accordance with the relevance, the educational program of training Dr. PhD has a scientific and pedagogical orientation and involves fundamental educational, methodological and research training and in-depth study of disciplines in psychological science for the system of higher and postgraduate education and the scientific field.

The features of the Doctor PhD training program are that the following disciplines are included in the educational program:

 

  • Modern problems of experimental psychology” in English, which allows doctoral students to get acquainted with international experience,
  • The discipline “Mathematical and statistical methods in psychological research” introduces modern methods of processing empirical data obtained from research.

 

Also, the academic part of the training includes such modern and current areas of psychotherapy as “Psychoanalytic Theory” and “Modern Problems of Analytical Psychology,” which are read in English. Such a combination of scientific and practical disciplines allows doctoral students to be in demand not only in the field of scientific achievements, but also in the field of modern practical psychology and psychotherapy.

 

At the Department of Psychology, there is a Laboratory for the study and correction of psychoemotional states. The following types of classes are held in the laboratory room:

 

  • practical and seminar classes in the disciplines of the department;
  • consulting on graduate design: bachelor’s degree; magistracy;
  • consultations on master’s and doctoral dissertations;
  • research work of the department;
  • performance of individual diagnostic and corrective works.

 

The material and technical equipment of the laboratory for the study and correction of psychoemotional states includes the five-channel software-simulator complex, which registers and processes several signals of electrical brain activity, electrical muscle activity, respiratory rate and heart rate at the same time.
