Whooping cough is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by a bacterium Bordetella pertussis which is found in the mouth,nose and larynx.Mostly get sick children. The causative agent of whooping cough spreads through the air, where it enters when coughing, sneezing,patient’s conversation.

 

Whooping cough is dangerous due to complications such as pneumonia (pneumonia),brain damage.  There is no medicine to treat people with whooping cough.

 

The only reliable and effective way to protect children and all adults from whooping cough is vaccination,which begins in early childhood and continues until 60. First vaccinations begin at 2, 3, 4 and 18 months of age. Further vaccination is carried out at 6, 16 years and every 10 years in adults.
