From June 10 to 12, 2026, Turan University in Almaty successfully hosted the 12th International EMI Congress on Entrepreneurship and Social Sciences. The Congress once again confirmed its status as a prestigious international platform for discussing current issues in entrepreneurship, economics, management, education, and social sciences.
The opening ceremony brought together representatives of government institutions, university leaders, scholars, researchers, and experts from Kazakhstan and abroad.
One of the key highlights of the opening ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Turan University and the International Turkic States University. The agreement opens new opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation, including the development of joint educational and research projects, the promotion of student and faculty mobility, and the exchange of best practices in higher education and research.
This year, the Congress welcomed scholars and researchers from 27 countries, including Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Georgia, Norway, Pakistan, Romania, Bulgaria, the Republic of Korea, Uganda, Bangladesh, Argentina, Brazil, India, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Malta, New Zealand, Iran, Lebanon, and Senegal.
A total of 225 research papers prepared by 283 authors representing 131 universities, research centers, and educational institutions were presented during the Congress. Through plenary and parallel sessions, participants discussed entrepreneurship development, digital transformation, innovation in management and education, sustainable development, international cooperation, and emerging trends in social science research.
The Congress served as an effective platform for academic exchange, networking, and the establishment of new international partnerships. Participants explored opportunities for collaborative research, expanded academic mobility programs, and future international projects.
Since its establishment in 2018, the EMI Congress has become a recognized international forum for scholarly cooperation. Previous editions have been hosted in Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Uzbekistan, Romania, and Kazakhstan. Throughout its history, the Congress has featured 2,345 papers prepared by 3,755 scholars from around the world.
The successful organization of the 12th International EMI Congress in Kazakhstan made a significant contribution to strengthening international scientific cooperation, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and enhancing the global visibility of Kazakhstan’s higher and postgraduate education institutions.
