International round table held at the Higher School of Law of Turan University

On May 4, 2026, the Higher School of Law of Turan University hosted an international round table on the topic “Modern Trends and Challenges of the Constitutional Process in Russia and Kazakhstan.” The event was organized jointly with the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. The round table was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person participation at Turan University in Almaty with remote online participation. The event brought together representatives of the academic and expert community, faculty members, practicing lawyers, as well as students from higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. During the round table, participants discussed current issues in the development of constitutional law, including the modernization of constitutional legislation, improvement of mechanisms for the implementation and protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, and the functioning of public authority institutions in modern conditions. Throughout the discussions, participants exchanged academic perspectives and practical experience, emphasized the importance of ongoing constitutional and legal reforms, and identified a number of pressing issues and challenges requiring further academic research. At the conclusion of the event, participants highlighted the importance of further developing interuniversity and international academic cooperation aimed at deepening research in the field of constitutional law.
