About the Institute's projects

The institute is currently working on the following projects:

Development of a model for assessing professional competencies at the stages of formation at a university (Using the example of educational programs in the area of ICT training) – is being implemented through a grant from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The implementation period is from August 2022 to December 2024. Research group: Abdiev K.S., Research Institute of IE, Primbetova G.S., Astrakhan State Technical University, Omarova U.Sh., department “IT”, Zhasandykyzy M., department “CSE”.

The goal of the project is to develop a model for assessing the competencies of bachelor’s degree graduates in accordance with the requirements of professional standards (PS). The following work was completed in 2023:

  • The problem of combining the requirements of the PS of the ICT industry with the content of the state standard of higher education and EP of universities has been studied (using the example of EP “IS”, “CES”). The main problem of connecting these documents is the lack of a unified methodological approach to their development. The names of PS in the EP are used formally, without projecting their requirements into learning outcomes.
  • The problem of measurability of requirements for competencies in the context of labor functions described in professional standards has been studied. Such research is necessary to develop tasks to assess the level of professional competencies.
  • Forms of tasks were determined to assess the level of development of professional competencies, a database of tasks was developed, and an examination of tasks was carried out.
  • Based on the results of the work for the year, three articles were published, of which two articles were published in a journal included in the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and one article in a journal from the Scopus list.
